Dr. Mark Chaney, DMD
Dr. Mark Chaney joined the uptown dental practice of Dr. Milford Kathmann in 1989 shortly after receiving his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Mississippi.
Because of his strong belief in the necessity of continuing education in order to provide his patients with the best possible treatment, Dr. Chaney has remained on the cutting edge of his profession through his annual participation in courses, clinics, and workshops on new and innovative dental materials and techniques.
In recognition of his outstanding professional and civic achievements, Dr. Chaney has been elected to membership in the Academy of General Dentistry, the International College of Dentist, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Chaney has been active in various dental associations, holding key leadership positions. He has served as president of the New Orleans Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. He has served as a delegate to the American Dental Association since 2004.
In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Chaney has contributed to his community through his participation in the United Way Young Leadership Training program and his service with the Volunteer and Information Agency and Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He is an active member of the Krewe of Carrollton.
Dr. Chaney and his wife Daria have three children: Christian, a lawyer in the New Orleans Area; Nicholas, a practicing dentist in with Dr. Chaney in the New Orleans Area; and, Ericha, a certified public account. His hobbies include fishing, repairing vintage sports cars, golf and skeet shooting.
Dr. Nicholas Chaney, DDS

Dr. Nicholas Chaney was born and raised in Mandeville, LA. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Spring Hill college in Mobile and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in May 2020. He then attended the University of Oklahoma for his residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. During his time there, Dr. Nick honed his diagnostic and professional skills while becoming proficient in complex full mouth restorations, advanced esthetic cases, and surgical placements of implants.
Upon successful completion of his residency, Dr. Nick joined the uptown practice of Dr. Mark Chaney DMD. He is eager to share his expertise and his love of dentistry with his patients as part of Chaney Family Dentistry. Being a third-generation dentist, Dr. Nick is committed to continuing to put the patient first and to provide excellent dental care that utilizes the latest research-backed practices.
Dr. Nick Continues to stay up to date with the latest treatment through continuing education courses. His primary goal, he notes, is to help his patients achieve maximum dental health. Dr. Nick is a member of the International College of Oral Implantologists, the New Orleans Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
When away from the dental office, Dr. Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their families, friends, and pets! Dr. Nick welcomed his first child, Olivia, in February 2023 and is expecting his second child in September 2024! Some of his hobbies are working on vintage cars, fishing, cooking, and playing golf.
